The diversity of experience across the Huron team is one of my favorite aspects of working here. I not only interact with people similar to me who grew the majority of their career in consulting, but also with former nurses, social workers, physicians and other experts in the field to help healthcare organizations transform and achieve their goals.

Pete’s interest in healthcare consulting first piqued as an undergraduate at Georgetown University. A student in the healthcare management and policy program, he interned at the university’s hospital. There he worked on initiatives to improve operational processes and patient flow.

After teaching middle school science through Teach for America and earning his master’s in education at the University of Miami, Pete was eager to start a career that combined his passion for healthcare and desire to make an impact across numerous organizations. He reached out to a Huron recruiter he had met a few years prior, and soon after joined the organization’s healthcare team as an analyst.

Today, after more than nine years with Huron, Pete is a senior director who has worked with more than 30 hospitals nationwide to transform the way they deliver care. The ability to be challenged by each project he takes on — and flexibility to explore new roles and subject matter — have kept him energized over more than nine years with Huron.

He attributes much of his growth to lessons he’s learned throughout his time with the organization, from how to build and maintain strong client relationships to the importance of trusting your own instincts. “Huron’s investment in employee growth and professional development stands out. The training programs we offer are not about sitting in a classroom and taking notes — they’re dedicated time to learn new skills, bond with peers and reflect on our careers.”
