Andy served in the U.S. Army for nine years before transitioning to the private sector, when he became a healthcare consultant at Huron. Though he was new to the consulting field, his projects brought a taste of the familiar: Andy joined Huron’s public sector team that works with federal agencies, including the Veterans Administration, to transform the way they serve their constituents.

Building on his personal background and professional experience, Andy co-founded Huron’s veterans employee resource group. He credits his coaches and project leaders with empowering him to bring forward that idea and shape a business case to bring it to life.

Andy left Huron after six years, but regularly stayed in touch with his colleagues. In 2019, one of his former leaders reached out about an opportunity to come back and focus on a complex electronic health record project for the federal government. He was eager to return to an organization where he could rely on all of his teammates to bring a disciplined approach to work and deliver an excellent product — a value that was not always apparent outside of Huron. “What brought me back was the chance to take on a new, exciting professional experience and rejoin a great team. Once you find people you work well with, you need to continue surrounding yourself with them.”
