In Brief
Huron and Jim Delany, president of Delany Advisory Inc. and former commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, recently announced that they will collaborate to support the field of intercollegiate athletics. Together, they will help athletic directors and other institutional leaders at various colleges and universities re-imagine the future of college sports.
“Jim Delany is one of the most knowledgeable, experienced and insightful leaders from the world of intercollegiate athletics,” says Jim Roth, CEO of Huron. “We at Huron are honored to work alongside him to optimize and manage the many opportunities and exposures related to our clients’ athletic programs.”
Delany served as the commissioner of the Big Ten Conference for 30 years, seeing the conference through significant periods of change and growth. While he stepped down from his position in early 2020, he has continued to support intercollegiate athletics, including through this new collaboration with Huron.
“Huron’s decades of experience and unparalleled position as the market leader in consulting to colleges and universities make them an ideal partner as I continue to work to help athletic directors, conference commissioners, presidents, chancellors, and other leaders in the field,” Delany says. “I hope that we will be able to help colleges and universities navigate the many uncertainties and challenges that they are currently facing in this critical space.”
