About Jaime

An integrated financial strategy and effective use of financial data is a critical component of business success in any industry — especially higher education, where the capacity to assess the institution’s overall health is a strategic imperative to plan for its future.

Jaime has spent over a decade in the higher education sector, helping more than 50 institutions innovate and transform their financial and operational systems and processes to secure a competitive advantage. Across colleges, universities, research institutions and academic health centers, he has worked with institutional leaders, provosts, academic deans and department chairs to assist his clients in analyzing and evolving core financial and operational strategies and systems and in providing leaders with the capacity to efficiently and strategically assess the institution’s health.

Throughout his career, Jaime has helped his clients mobilize foundational strategies, systems, policies and processes to increase financial and operational efficiency. For many of his clients in academic health centers and research institutions, conducting funds flow analyses, reconciling financial intersections, and developing joint operating statements have helped them strengthen compliance as well as clinical and academic partnerships. By redesigning budget models and governance structures, workforce operations, programs, structures, processes, systems and service delivery, Jaime has helped many clients elevate their ability to navigate disruption, enhance performance and improve operational efficiency.

Before joining Huron, Jaime served in the United States Army Reserves as a platoon sergeant. Over the years, he has frequently served as an expert on planning and budgeting panels and forums, including annual conferences for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), the Western University Financial Officers (WUFO), the Western Universities Supply Management Association (WUSMA) and the Western Association of Resource Planners (WARP).

Jaime holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration operations and management science from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business. He is a member of NACUBO and a leader within its advisory group on leadership diversity.
