Grant has more than 10 years of healthcare leadership experience in revenue cycle operations, performance improvement and organization redesign. He has led more than 20 performance improvement engagements at large health networks, community hospitals and academic health centers and has extensive experience planning and preparing clients for large-scale organizational change and growth.

For more than a decade, Grant has led more than 20 operations management, performance improvement and health information system engagements for complex integrated health systems to help clients plan and prepare for large-scale organizational growth and change.

Throughout his career, Grant has:

  • Led the transition of over 2,000 leaders and associates to a remote work model at a $4 billion, 22-hospital network on the West Coast while serving as the vice president of revenue cycle operations for Huron’s managed services business.
  • Led an integrated revenue cycle, clinical documentation improvement, and care access engagement at a large academic health center, resulting in $75 million in yield improvement.
  • Built a systemwide bad debt and collection improvement engagement by bringing the clinical and revenue cycle teams together to revamp policies and procedures related to patient liability education.
  • Served as the project director for a multifacility performance improvement project resulting in the elimination of a $50 million coding backlog, an increase of $50,000 per month in point-of-service collections, and an average improvement of $7 million per month in overall cash collections.
  • Led an upfront collections program for a Midwest community hospital rollout, which experienced $250,000 in collections in the first two months and a historical low for hospital accounts receivable days, resulting in $9.6 million in revenue cycle process improvement benefits.
  • Served as the project director for a multifacility Epic conversion, which experienced revenue cycle metric stabilization within three months and an increase in monthly cash collections of $805,000. The client was selected for the Health Facilities Management magazine feature article on maintaining revenue cycle performance during an Epic conversion.

Prior to joining Huron, Grant was a credit and risk manager at Wells Fargo, where he was responsible for identifying corporate risk and creating mitigation strategies to ensure financial security for the organization.

Grant is a member of the Minneapolis chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association; a speaker for the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society; a board member and ministry finance chairman of the Excelsior Covenant Church; and a volunteer at the nonprofit Feed My Starving Children in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Grant holds a quantitative emphasis Bachelor of Arts in economics and finance from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in labor economics from Queen Mary University of London.
